Teaching Philosophy & Curriculum Development

Throughout my academic career, I have been dedicated to shaping the future of chemistry and materials science education. My teaching philosophy is based on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications, ensuring that students are prepared for both research and industry careers. Over the years, I have developed and modernized undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral-level curricula, incorporating the latest advancements in chemistry, nanotechnology, and electrochemistry.

I have played a significant role in designing interdisciplinary programs that bridge chemistry, environmental science, and engineering, allowing students to gain a broader understanding of scientific applications in the real world. My approach to teaching emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking, and hands-on laboratory experience to equip students with the skills needed to tackle modern scientific challenges.

Mentorship & Student Supervision

A crucial aspect of my academic contributions is mentorship and student supervision. Over the years, I have mentored numerous undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students, guiding them through their research projects, thesis writing, and scientific publications. My mentorship extends beyond academic support, as I encourage students to develop independent research ideas, participate in international conferences, and engage in industry collaborations.

Academic Leadership & Administrative Roles

In addition to teaching, I have taken on several administrative and leadership roles within the university:

  • Leader of Third-Cycle (PhD) Studies at the Faculty of Science and Technology (2023 – Present)
  • Leader of Second-Cycle (Master’s) Studies at the Faculty of Technology (2020 – 2022)
  • Member of the Senate of the University of Tuzla (2017 – 2021)
  • Expert Representative for the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance in Bosnia and Herzegovina

These roles have allowed me to shape university policies, improve research funding, and foster international collaborations that enhance academic excellence at our institution.
